Agia also enters EDA THESS’ natural gas network in the first half of 2019.

On Friday, January 18th 2019, a meeting was held in the City Hall of Agia between Mr. A. Gountaras, Mayor of Agia, Mr. L. Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS and EDA THESS’ executives.

Mr. A. Gountaras, Mayor of Agia, underlined the fact that the connection of the Community of Agia with the Gas Distribution Network is a significant local project which is to come true in 2019. He stated that there is great interest from both Households and Commercial Consumers and referred to the energy saving from getting the municipal buildings gas connected.

For the EDA THESS Gas Decompression and Distribution Station (CNG), the Community of Agia has already granted the land use of a Municipal site, on approval of the Decentralized Administration of Thessaly-Central Greece. In March, construction works shall start, aiming at supplying the region in the first half of 2019.

Mr. L. Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS, stated that the supply of the Community of Agia shall take place in the first half of 2019. The gas network basic design of 1,800m total length has been completed, with its expansion expected to continue in the near future. Such expansion is expected to reach 6km in 2022 and the contracts to exceed 600 – an investment of 1.49m.

Furthermore, within 2019, the four municipal buildings within the basic design shall be supplied, along with any potential consumers who have shown great interest. General public in the area of ​​Agia shall be continuously informed, both by brochure distribution and customer service, through the EDA THESS customer service checkpoint, aiming to covering most of the area.

Better customer service entails applying for connection to the Municipality of Agia, the EDA THESS office in Larissa, calling at 11 150, or online at www.edathess.gr.

Finally, always in compliance with the approved EDA THESS Distribution Network Development Program, in the first half of 2019 three additional new areas in Thessaly shall be supplied; namely: Palamas and Sofades in the Prefecture of Karditsa, as well as ​​Nea Anchialos in the Prefecture of Magnisia.
