The development of EDA THESS’ distribution network in the Municipality of Almyros was discussed in a meeting that was held between the Mayor, Mr. Vangelis Hatzikyriakos with the Manager of Gas Market Development in Thessaly, Mrs. Efthymia Kalogirou and the Company’s executives.
For his part, the Mayor Mr. Hatzikyriakos, expressed his satisfaction for the maintained cooperation between the Company and the Municipal Authority. He referred extensively to the network’s development and the increasing requests of citizens for the transition the use of natural gas. He pointed out that the Company is a model partnership of Private Sector with the Greek State.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Municipal Department of Efxeinoupoli, Mr. Anargyros Tefoglou, who referred to the increased number of citizens’ applications for their connection to the Natural Gas network.
During the meeting, the Mayor was informed by the Manager of Gas Market Development in Thessaly, Mrs. Efthymia Kalogirou, about the Company’s Development Program, according to which, by 2024 investments of € 1 million will be made for the development of the distribution network in the Municipality and for the connection of potential consumers. She noted that to date, over € 1 million investments have been made for the network’s expansion and the connection of more than 300 families and 21 municipal buildings with it. It was agreed to launch the actions on behalf of the Municipality immediately for the conversion of the internal installations of the municipal buildings and schools in order to benefit from the use of natural gas in the winter period 2021. Also, EDA THESS will evaluate the request for the network’s expansion in the area so as to be included in the Company’s planning for 2021.
The pleasant atmosphere of the meeting highlighted the common goal of the Company with the Municipal Authority for the maintenance of close cooperation, seeking the development and the environmental upgrade of the local community.
