EDA THESS: Growth at a steady pace with safety

More than 2,000 new consumers signed a Connection Contract with EDA THESS’ natural gas distribution network in August, 2% more than the same period of 2019, despite the crucial conditions due to the pandemic and the effects of the summer season. Respectively, the distribution volumes showed a significant increase, which amounted to 10.7 million cubic meters, increased by 31% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

The number of applications for new gas connections submitted by consumers is growing and for this reason, the two mobile units of EDA THESS will continue to visit remote areas to avoid the congestion of citizens at the Company's Service Offices.

EDA THESS objective is the implementation of its investment plan to increase the penetration of natural gas in the areas of the License, and the compliance with the Development Program in full, constantly taking strict protection measures to safeguard public health.

 

In particular, the security measures are summarized as follows:

 

• Mandatory preventive molecular and antibody tests of all employees, who return from summer leave, are realized in diagnostic centers contracted with the Company.
• Scheduling meetings through video conference and avoiding unnecessary movements within the Company's premises.
• Installation of integrated real-time remote temperature measurement systems, at all the Company’s gates in Thessaloniki and Thessaly.
• Observance of strict protection measures, use of antiseptics and mask in the offices and in the field.
• Daily information and instructions are sent to the staff according to the current developments.
• Carrying out disinfections in all areas on a systematic basis.

EDA THESS ensures the continuation of its operations for the uninterrupted distribution of natural gas and the provision of optimal services to its consumers and Distribution Users. With the highest goal of limiting the pandemic, the Company is fully in line with the measures dictated by the State for the protection of employees, associates and society as a whole.
