Study Visit of the 2nd Primary School of Agia at the Enrico Mattei School of EDA THESS

EDA THESS launched a training programme for schools and welcomed the students of the 2nd Primary School of Agia at EDA THESS’ Enrico Mattei School, briefing them in both the source-to-consumption route of Natural gas and the benefits from its use.
The Event was honored by the presence of EDA THESS’ staff members and the Teachers of the 2nd Primary School of Agia, Ms Sofia Sofologi, Ms Rena Komisopoulou and Mr Georgios Antonoulis, who accompanied the 43 in total, 5th and 6th graders of the school.
The students learned about the “Safe Use of Gas” as well as the Gas Transfer and Distribution Process from its point of entry into Greece to the final consumption.
The benefits of natural gas were stressed out as gas is a safe, ecological, easy to use, practical fuel and dominant in Thessaly, since 58% of the population of Thessaly already uses it. The economic benefit of gas in domestic, commercial and industrial sector, as well as the relevant respect of the fuel for the Environment, with almost zero Sulphur dioxide (SO2) emissions, 30% less nitric oxide (NO), 50% less carbon monoxide (CO) emissions and 70% less microparticles (MP) emissions, contributing to the protection of the ecosystem and nature, were also underlined.
EDA THES is expanding its Network in new remote areas and is expected to supply Agia within the first half of 2019.
The 43 students of the 2nd Elementary School of Agia, attended with great interest and excitement EDA THESS’ presentation, which was confirmed by the numerous spontaneous questions asked throughout the event.
As part of the visit, memorabilia were distributed to the students by EDA THESS and the event was completed with the promise that the current Study Visit shall be the Stepping Stone of Future Educational Actions to be followed by the Enrico Mattei Lab.
