On Sunday 30 April 2017, an open info day was organized for citizens in the Municipal Community of Lagkadas regarding the natural gas network expansion, the connection process and the benefits associated with the use of natural gas. The event took place in the Town Council hall, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of the Environment & Energy, Mr. Sokratis Famellos.
The Municipality of Larissa and the Gas Distribution Company Thessaloniki-Thessalia (EDA THESS) joined forces with a view to coordinate roadworks and avoid the successive execution of works, even on roads that have been recently paved.

A fruitful meeting was held between the General Manager of the Gas Distribution Company Thessaloniki-Thessalia S.A. Gavotsis, with a view to transfer the request of residents in the districts of Galini, Liti, Drimos and Melissohori, as well as Pentalofos and Neohorouda, for development of the natural gas network to allow citizens to enjoy the benefits from using it.
On Sunday 12 March 2017, an open info day was held for citizens in Chortiatis Municipal Unit ("Ioannis Manoledakis" hall) on the subject of the natural gas distribution network expansion, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Environment & Energy Mr. Sokratis Famellos.
"Expansion of the natural gas network has been our top priority as it contributes significantly to the country's development process and industrial restructuring, leading to an immense reduction of production cost" said the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Mr. Sokratis Famellos addressing the representatives of major industrial plants at a conference held this morning at the Town Hall of Chalkidona.
