Despite the difficult conditions, 2,600 new contracts were signed in July for the connection to the natural gas distribution network of EDA THESS, showing an increase of 3% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and an increase of 17% compared to the budget. In total this year, more than 22,000 new gas connection contracts are expected to be signed, reaching Budget levels.
At the same time, the penetration of natural gas in the areas of EDA THESS’ License is proceeding at a rapid pace. Following the approval of the Development Plan, the Company proceeds with the full implementation of its investment program amounting to €37.12 million for the year 2020, which includes consumer connections, gas network expansions and the supply of new areas.
It is pointed out that, in order to avoid overcrowding in EDA THESS’ Customer Service Offices, in the next period and until the end of the year, the 2 mobile units of the Company will visit the remote areas. In this context, citizens will be informed about the connection process, the submission of applications for connection to the gas distribution network, as well as for its safe use (indicative for Thessaloniki in the areas of Lagadas, Koufalia, Chalastra, Trilofos-Plagiari, Epanomi- N. Michaniona, Chortiatis-Filiro, Vasilika-Ag. Paraskevi-N. Rysio, and for Thessaly in Tyrnavos, Elassona, Kalampaka, Agia, Palamas, Sofades, Almyros, Velestino, Mouzaki, Pyli).
Finally, it is stated that, taking into account the latest updates of the State on the evolution of the pandemic and with the constant goal of EDA THESS to retain the protection of the health of its people and the society as a whole, strict safety measures are observed. Specifically, the mask is universally used by all employees and visitors in all areas of the Company and in the field, integrated real-time temperature measurement systems are installed, instructions are sent daily to employees and mandatory preventive molecular and antibody tests of all employees, who return from summer leave, are realized in diagnostic centers contracted with the Company.
