A two-day Event for Natural Gas welcome
EDA THESS – Effective Planning and Consistency for the supply of 2 new areas, Koufalia in Thessaloniki and Kalampaka in Thessaly
03.12.2018
Once more, EDA THESS, consistent in its planning, supplied the area of Koufalia, Municipality of Chalkidona, in an event held on Saturday 01.12.2018 on the Central Square of the town, as well as the area of Kalampaka, Municipality of Meteora, on Sunday 02.12.2018 at Kalampaka Town Hall.
During the events, EDA THESS underlined the fact that it was a collective effort to the benefit of shareholders, users and end customers. Energy exclusion of remote areas is removed as two more remote districts are connected to gas network. This was achieved with the contribution, in several ways, of the State, with the adoption of the Technical Regulation; RAE, with the establishment of the Regulatory Framework; and EDA THESS with the high level of know-how and its excellent organization. The supply of these new regions would not be feasible without the adoption of the regulatory framework, as they would not meet the technical/ economic criteria for pipeline expansion, on the basis of which investments are implemented.
Koufalia event was attended by the Mr. S. Famellos – Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. A. Tzitzikostas – Regional Governor of Central Macedonia, Mr. I. Tsouknidas, Mayor of Chalkidona, Mr. K. Gioutikas, Deputy Director for Regional Development and Environment, Mr. G. Arvanitidis, MP of “Dimokratiki Simparataksi” (Democratic Coalition party), Mr. V. Bouras, EDA THESS BoD Chairman, and Mr. L. Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS. State and local government representatives characterized the Company a raw model, while at the same time they praised its organization and consistency concerning its commitment to 2019 plan.
In the district of Koufalia, 700 consumer applications have already been lodged with the first ones being supplied after having signed a contract; an investment about to reach € 2m from 2018 to 2022.
Kalampaka event was attended by Mr. K. Agorastos, Regional Governor of Thessaly, Mr. K. Skrekas, former Minister, Trikala MP, “Nea Dimokratia” (New Democracy party) MP competent for Environment and Energy, Mr. Ch. Sinanis, Mayor of Meteora, Mr. Ch. Symorelis, Trikala MP with “SYRIZA” (Coalition of the Radical Left party), Mr. N. Papageorgiou, President of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE-TCG) Central and Western Thessaly, Ms. S. Dimoghianni, Vice-Chairwoman of EDA THESS Board of Directors and Mr. L. Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS. To date, more than 1,600 applications have been lodged in Kalampaka and the total investment in the region over the 5-year period (2018-2022) shall exceed € 3.5m.
EDA THESS is distinguished for its consistent planning, always maintaining its operational independence, respecting the principle of equal treatment of users and end consumers.
The next milestone is the supply of Elassona on 13.12.2018, in the region of Thessaly, as well as Neo Rysio on 23.12.2018 and Chalastra on 28.12.2018 in the Prefecture of Thessaloniki.
