Citizens of Trikala go for natural gas
Οn Monday, July 2nd, 2018, a meeting between the Brigadier Mr. Kostopoulos D., EDA THESS’s General Manager Mr. Bakouras L. and the Manager of Development & New Connections in Thessaly, Mrs. Kalogirou E., was held, at the offices of the School of Permanent Army Officers in Trikala.
The purpose of the meeting was the connection of the School with the natural gas network. EDA THESS and the School of Permanent Army Officers, have reached an agreement to connect the military camp with the natural gas network. Following the contract signing, all of the school’s facilities in total, with a total power of 3,5 million Kcal and a consumption of approximately 200.000 cubic meters per year, will be supplied with natural gas in the near future, upon the station’s and natural gas meter’s installation.
Then, a meeting was held with the Mayor of the Municipality of Trikkaion, Mr. Papastergiou D., who was informed about natural gas penetration. During the nine (9) years of the company’s activity, the penetration rate in the Municipality of Trikkaion reaches 45% of the total population. Equally high is the natural gas coverage percentage of the total streets’ length of the Municipality of Trikkaion, since it exceeds 50%.
Among 68 municipal and school buildings of the Municipality of Trikkaion, 29 are already supplied with natural gas, while the remaining 39 buildings, with an expected consumption of 800.000 cubic meters per year, according to Mr. Papastergiou’s update, will be included soon in the supply process.
EDA THESS expressed its satisfaction for the excellent cooperation and also, informed the municipal authority that the Company's development program, includes investments of 3 million euros for the Municipality of Trikkaion, concerning network expansions.
The meetings were completed within an optimistic way, with the commitment of all parties for a constructive cooperation and towards the common objective for the citizens’ and area’s prosperity.
