A contract was signed with the pharmaceutical industry VIOSER for its connection to the distribution network of EDA THESS, attesting the timeless value of natural gas.
With a long history in the health sector, VIOSER in Trikala - Region of Thessaly - currently holds a prominent position in the domestic market, while undertaking strong export activity. The company continues to invest in new technologies and the development of new products and services, focusing on quality based on the needs of patients.
A meeting was held between the Manager of Natural Gas Market Development in Thessaly, Mrs. Efthymia Kalogirou and the President & CEO of VIOSER, Mr. Nikos Koufopoulos to sign the Contract for the connection of the industry to the distribution network. The annual consumption of the industry is expected to exceed 2,000,000 cubic meters, while the commissioning of the factory, according to the planning of EDA THESS, will take place in September 2022.
Mrs. Kalogirou pointed out that: "The penetration of natural gas in the industry has significantly increased in recent years, becoming the predominant energy choice for industries with direct and indirect thermal needs. Natural gas supports the development of the productive sector, although the conditions of the world market for energy products are not favorable. Our country is able to guarantee the security of supply through alternative sources of natural gas supply and to boost the national economy in its recovery from this difficult period, expecting the de-escalation of prices in the near future."
As Mr. Koufopoulos stated on his part: "Today we are very happy that our request was satisfied. The connection of our factory is an urgency to meet our production needs with reduced operating costs and to upgrade the production process in order to improve the quality of the end products and at the same time to increase our export activity".
