COOPERATION FOR REDUCING ROAD-SURFACE SECTIONS BETWEEN LARISSA MUNICIPALITY AND EDA THESS

FOR REDUCING ROAD-SURFACE SECTIONS BETWEEN LARISSA MUNICIPALITY AND EDA THESS

Free connection to consumers who will join the network within the current year and meter activation by 31.12.2017

The Municipality of Larissa and the Gas Distribution Company Thessaloniki-Thessalia (EDA THESS) joined forces with a view to coordinate roadworks and avoid the successive execution of works, even on roads that have been recently paved.

The agreement between the two parties was announced at a joint press conference by the Mayor of Larissa Mr. Apostolos Kalogiannis and the General Manager of the Gas Supply Company Thessaloniki-Thessalia (EDA THESS), Mr. Leonidas Bakouras.

Therefore, at the districts where the Municipal Water and Sewerage Company of Larissa (DEYAL) has scheduled to carry out works for the replacement of water supply networks or where the Municipality will perform road-paving works, EDA THESS will address fellow citizens inviting them through press releases and door-to-door leaflets to promptly express their interest in gas supply by giving priority to performing an autopsy of the gas point and proceeding to the prompt construction of the work.

The Municipality of Larissa has committed to forthwith communicate the scheduling of works to EDA THESS to allow for the timely update of citizens on the possibility of getting connected to the Natural Gas network. This enables the coordination of actions between the Municipality of Larissa and EDA THESS for the performance of gas connections prior to the execution of road-paving works, thus significantly reducing interventions (sections) on the road-surface.

Mr. Bakouras and Mr. Kalogiannis underlined that in order to achieve the best possible result, in addition to the cooperation between the Municipality and EDA THESS, there should be the active involvement of citizens. For this reason, the strong incentive of 100% off Connection Fees is given to consumers. At first, the residents of Ampelokipi and Ippokratis districts will enjoy the benefits of this cooperation.

The meeting was concluded in excellent circumstances, with both parties committing to continue their cooperation in the coming months and to make progress.
