EDA THESS officially became a member of the powerful pan – European GD4S Association, following the positive evaluation of its request, after a written notification to the General Manager, Mr. Leonidas Bakouras by the Chairman of the Association and Italgas C.E.O., Mr. Paolo Gallo.
In GD4S participate leading gas distribution companies from France, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Romania, which represent the serving of about 28 million customers in Europe.
EDA THESS’ participation in the association certifies its value and multi-year experience and at the same time, it is one of the most important actions of its extroversion.
Summarizing, the goals governing the Body are as follows:
To achieve the abovementioned objectives, the organization undertakes to carry out any activity that is considered important for the gas distribution sector. More specifically, it advocates for the promotion of polities and technical developments at European level for the rational use of natural gas. At the same time, the body takes care of the support, evaluation, and dissemination of the results of research, practical experiences and projects in the field related to its members activities. Then provides information and educating material on natural gas and the distribution network infrastructure. At the same time, it is developing a constructive dialogue with experts and EU funds on issues related to the development of natural gas uses. In this perspective, the organization promotes and defends the common interests of the gas distribution network operators, especially in relation to European Institutions and Stakeholders.
In his statement, the General Manager, Leonidas Bakouras, mentioned that "EDA THESS is constantly taking initiatives to expand its partnerships based on sustainable development. We are very proud to be part of this sector as our position in the Greek energy market is now internationally recognized. Through our membership, we combine our many years of experience and high expertise in gas distribution with Europe's most important energy groups to promote policies for the benefit of European consumers, the economy and the environment."
