The Connection of the Food and Canning Industry “INTERCOMM FOODS” to EDA THESS’ distribution network has been completed on 18/06/2020. It is one of the Greek leading companies with important exports activity, which has achieved international recognition.
Most of its production is being exported to more than 65 countries while it has received significant awards for its international presence. “INTERCOMM FOODS” has now the ability to meet the daily needs of its production activities using natural gas, as its annual consumption reaches ~ 2.000.000 Nm3.
In this context, a meeting was held at the premises of the unit between Mr. Tsiakoulis Stergios, President & CEO, Mrs. Kalogirou Efthymia, Manager of Gas Market Development in Thessaly and the technicians of EDA THESS.
Mr. Tsiakoulis praised the significant support of EDA THESS and the actions taken through the implementation of works, since the connection contract until the supply commencement. According to him, the connection of the unit with the gas distribution network will bring economic benefits, especially in a period when there is a decline in investment activity. At the same time, the company is able to incorporate the environmental parameter into its production process.
At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Kalogirou stated that in EDA THESS’ areas of the License, the lowest gas distribution tariffs are applied, which gives incentives to attract investments in industry and in modern technological applications, despite the recession. She added that, the Company supports the industrial sector, contributing to the country’s development, as natural gas is a means of economic recovery and environmental sustainability.
The Connection Contract to the gas distribution network of the industry for the production of straps and heavy-duty tires «CVBTECH HELLAS» was signed, which is located to the 1st Industrial Area of Volos. It is a newly established company that will stimulate the local industry and boost employment in the region.
By connecting the industry’s facilities to the gas distribution network, which are expected to be completed within the year, the needs of its production activity will be met, estimated to reach ~270.000 Nm3 annually with an upward trend of up to ~400.000 Nm3.
In this context, a meeting was held at the premises of the unit between Mr. Kintas Georgios, Director of the Industry, Mrs. Kalogirou Efthymia, Manager of Gas Market Development in Thessaly and EDA THESS’ executives, during which the foundations were laid for the development of an excellent cooperation.
