VISIT OF THE FIRE-FIGHTING ACADEMY AT THE GAS DISTRIBUTION COMPANY THESSALONIKI-THESSALIA S.A.
The educational visit of students from the Fire-fighting Academy to the Gas Distribution Company Thessaloniki-Thessalia S.A. (EDA THESS), was successfully concluded on Wednesday 3 May 2017, when an honorary plaque was awarded by the Commander of the Fire Department Mr. Spyridon Varsamis to the General Manager Mr. Leonidas Bakouras for the long-standing collaboration and mutual support of EDA THESS to the Fire Department.
At first, the students visited the headquarters of EDA THESS in Thessaloniki, where they were given detailed information by the Manager of Network Operation & Maintenance Mr. I. Karakitsos and Company executives on natural gas installations. The information was about the technical features of the installed network, the Emergency Intervention structure, the presentation and analysis of actual emergencies, the internal installations and the applicable laws.
Then, the students of the Fire-fighting Academy visited the field facilities of EDA THESS, where the technical staff of the Company made a demonstration of the installed equipment such as Distribution Stations, reducers, meters, valves and electrical motors.
The visit was closed with the assurance that the successful collaboration between EDA THESS and the Fire Department will continue on all issues within their competences.
