Management System

 

The Company , implements a Management System for Quality, Environment, Energy, Occupational Health & Safety, Road Traffic Safety, Information Security, Anti-Bribery and Business Continuity  (Management System) in the context of its activities as the Operator of the Natural Gas Distribution Network within the limits of the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki and the Region of Thessaly.

 

The Management System regulates the Company activities, in order to:

  • effectively manage the quality of works performed and services provided,
  • ensure environmental and energy management and improve relevant performance,
  • safeguard the health and safety of employees, customers and third parties, as well as the Road Traffic Safety,
  • ensure Information Security management,
  • ensure Anti-Bribery management,
  • ensure Business Continuity management.

The scope of the Management System is available to Interested Parties, upon request.


 

The Quality, Environmental, Energy and Occupational Health & Safety Policy

The Management of the Company considers the continuous effort for improvement, the cooperation with all Interested Parties (Distribution Users, Counterparties in Connection Contracts, End Customers, Employees, Shareholders, Suppliers, State, Society) and the dissemination of know-how regarding the use of gas as key components of its corporate identity, and at the same time, it acknowledges the contribution of its activity to the growth and prosperity of the local communities and the protection of the environment.
Being aware of the foregoing, the Company implements a Management System in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 45001. The Company:

  • is committed  to complying with all legal, regulatory and normative requirements governing its activities, with those related to environmental and energy management as well as those related to occupational health and safety,
  • is committed to complying with the obligations deriving from the applicable legislative and regulatory framework for the protection of personal data and the communications’ security and privacy,
  • is committed to providing Natural Gas distribution services without discrimination between Distribution Users, Counterparties in Connection Contracts and/ or End Customers and  continuously improving its services,
  • ensures that the Management System achieves the intended results,
  • ensures availability of resources and information needed for the Management System and the achievement of objectives and targets,
  • fulfills the contractual requirements of the Distribution Users and Counterparties in Connection Contracts and takes the necessary steps to increase their satisfaction,
  • takes into account the expectations of the Interested Parties, being aware of its social responsibility,
  • provides for the safe operation of the Natural Gas Distribution Network and takes every measure to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of its management,
  • provides for the distribution of Natural Gas, in accordance with the requirements of the Natural Gas Distribution Network Operation Code,
  • provides Company's personnel with the necessary training, appropriate working environment and health & safety conditions for the successful accomplishment of its tasks,
  • takes all necessary measures for preventing accidents at work and occupational ill health,
  • supports the supply of energy efficient products and services, as well as the process design, taking into account the improvement of its energy performance,
  • constantly assesses risks, identifying and prioritizing risks and opportunities that may arise during its activities and may relate to quality, environmental, and/or OH&S issues,
  • sets objectively achievable and quantifiable targets, as well as monitoring indicators covering all processes,
  • establishes and implements Quality - Environment - Health & Safety programs,
  • is committed to the consultation and participation of its employees in Health & Safety issues,
  • ensures a technologically modern and professionally suitable working environment,
  • takes into account and implements the provisions of the General Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the collection and processing of personal data,
  • modifies this Policy, when deemed necessary, to ensure that it remains adequate and appropriate.

Pursuant to the foregoing, the Company carries out all its activities according to the applicable provisions of the relevant legislation and, in addition, it sets and reviews its objectives and targets on an annual basis, in order to ensure continuous improvement in the management and performance of quality, protection of the environment, occupational health & safety and energy.

 

The Road Traffic Safety Policy

The Company exercises its powers and duties as the Operator of the Natural Gas Distribution Network, in accordance with the Distribution License and the Distribution Network Operation License, within the limits of the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki and the Region of Thessaly until 31.12.2043.

The above activities include the construction, operation, maintenance and management of the Natural Gas Distribution Network within the above geographical areas, as specified in its Licenses.

The Strategic Axis of our operation governing the present Road Safety Policy for our staff, as well as the respective objectives and targets set, focus on protecting human life. Specifically, regarding the Road Traffic Safety of our employees, the corporate targets are the following:

  • Zero car accidents,
  • No environmental impact in case of a road traffic safety incident,
  • Well-trained and aware staff, and
  • Incident management readiness.

The Management is committed to full compliance with the legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as to the provision of the required resources to optimize the Road Safety level and  to support relevant programs.

The above objectives are achieved through:

  • Ongoing information, training and increasing awareness of our staff and partners/ suppliers to ensure the continuous improvement of our performance in terms of Road Traffic Safety,
  • Regular review of risks/opportunities and Road Traffic Safety programs aiming at the continuous improvement of the Road Traffic Safety Management System we implement,
  • Regular monitoring of the relevant performance indicators,
  • Specific traffic accident management plan and performance of preparedness drills,
  • Continuous optimization of the Road Traffic Safety Management System in accordance with the corporate goals and strategic axes.

The Management is committed to regularly reviewing the present Policy and the Road Traffic Safety Management System it implements, as well as to continuously improving its performance.   

 

Anti-Corruption Policy

The Company exercises its powers and duties as the Operator of the Natural Gas Distribution Network, in accordance with the Distribution License and the Distribution Network Operation License, within the boundaries of the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki and the Region of Thessaly until 31.12.2043.

The aforementioned activities include the construction, operation, maintenance, management and exploitation of the Natural Gas Distribution Network within the above geographical areas, as specified in its Licenses.
The present Policy applies to all the activities of the Company. Our Company is committed to achieving the highest standards of ethical conduct and professional integrity and to ensuring that its employees and third parties providing professional services on its behalf, act in accordance with the applicable Greek Law against bribery and corruption.

Company Principles:

  • Intolerance of any form of bribery or corruption attempt and full compliance with the Company's procedures and legislation.
  • Company's personnel will never claim or accept, directly or indirectly, benefits of any nature in order to deviate from the legal and open corporate procedures or to act in favor of a future partner (supplier, service provider, contractor).
  • No direct or indirect granting of any benefit to any person (working in the public or private sector) for the purpose of gaining or maintaining a business advantage.
  • Development of a Documented Anti-Corruption System comprising all the organizational units of the Company and other related third parties.
  • Establishment of an impartial and independent committee to manage corruption incidents.
  • The personnel is encouraged to report incidents that deviate from the Company’s Anti-Corruption Principles, safeguarding the privacy of information and involved people.
  • Regular monitoring of the Anti-Corruption System efficiency through internal audits performed by the appropriate and competent personnel.
  • Continuous monitoring of goals and their performance indicators.
  • Establishment of controls in order to ensure timely prevention of potential Corruption incidents and their prompt identification.

In case of deviation from the Management System, the mechanisms of investigation and risk assessment are activated immediately, in order to define preventive and corrective actions and intensify the controls to minimize the recurrence of the phenomenon.

 

Business Continuity Policy

The Company exercises its powers and duties as the Operator of the Natural Gas Distribution Network, in accordance with the Distribution License and the Distribution Network Operation License, within the boundaries of the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki and the Region of Thessaly until 31.12.2043.

The aforementioned activities include the construction, operation, maintenance, management and exploitation of the Natural Gas Distribution Network within the above geographical areas, as specified in its Licenses.

As the ultimate aim is the uninterrupted operation of the Company and consequently, the service of all interested parties, the Management implements the Business Continuity Management System through  which it has:

  • Recognized the stakeholders and their respective expectations,
  • Identified the risks associated with its uninterrupted operation,
  • Determined the desired security level,
  • Defined the required actions, time-frames and responsibilities for the management of any incident and the recovery of its operational Departments.

The Management is being committed to being in full compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements, to providing the necessary resources in order to continuously improve its business continuity level and to supporting the relevant emergency plans.  

Our objectives are the following:

  • The safety of the employees,
  • The prevention of incidents that endanger our business continuity and the minimization of the impact of business continuity incidents,
  • The constant preparedness to respond to incidents and the timely full recovery,
  • The establishment of a business continuity culture through all corporate levels and stakeholders

The above objectives are achieved through the continuous training and awareness raising of our employees, partners/ suppliers and third parties, the regular assessment of the threats and their impact on the Company's business continuity, the implementation of appropriate emergency plans (organizational and technical measures) and the continual monitoring of critical key performance indicators.
