The first compressed natural gas (CNG) decompressor was installed in Thessaloniki region and in particular in Lagkadas, as part of the Distribution Network of the Gas Distribution Company Thessaloniki - Thessaly S.A. (EDA THESS).
The first natural gas decompressor in Greece was installed for the supply of Tyrnavos by the Gas Distribution Company Thessaloniki – Thessalia S.A. (EDA THESS). The General Manager of EDA THESS Mr. Leonidas Bakouras along with the company’s executives, met with the Mayor of Tyrnavos Mr. Panagiotis Sarchosis, to ensure the progress of the supply works in Tyrnavos with this pioneer, for the Greek State, compressed natural gas (CNG) method.
Chief Executive Officer of ENI gas e luce S.p.A., Mr. Alberto Chiarini, accompanied by Mr. Pietro Galizzi (Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs), visited Thessaloniki and met the Management of the Gas Distribution Company of Thessaloniki-Thessalia S.A. (EDA THESS) and the Local Authorities of the city.

EDA THESS participated in the 3rd Development Conference which was held between 11-12 November 2017 in Volos on the subject of "Planning the next 20 years in Magnisia Prefecture". On the second day of the conference, a speech was given by the General Manager of EDA THESS, Mr. Leonidas Bakouras.

On Monday 18.09.2017 the expansion project of the natural gas distribution network in the area of Nea Mesimvria is getting started, in Municipality Unit of Ag.
