Rather successful was the evening conference organized by EDA THESS on Thursday, November 29th 2018, on “Natural Gas Distribution and Network Operation” held in order to inform the technical operators and Distribution Users on issues concerning the gas market regulatory framework.
EDA THESS launched a training programme for schools and welcomed the students of the 2nd Primary School of Agia at EDA THESS’ Enrico Mattei School, briefing them in both the source-to-consumption route of Natural gas and the benefits from its use.

Holy Metropolis of Thessaliotis and Phanariofersala had proceeded to the completion of the process for the connection of the Holy Temples of Karditsa and Farsala with natural gas Network, in a meeting held on Monday, October 29th, 2018, Gas Distribution Company Thessaloniki – Thessalia SA (EDA THESS). The meeting was attended by Metropolite Timotheos, as well as several holy fathers from the Holy Temples of the Metropolis, Mr. Leonidas Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS and Ms. Efthymia Kalogirou, EDA THESS Manager of Development and New Connections.
A milestone for the future of Thessaly was the supply of the local pipeline network from the EDA THESS CNG decompression station in Tyrnavos. The inauguration of the first CNG station in Thessaly took place on Saturday 20.10.2018, at the Central Square of Tyrnavos.
The first CNG decompression station in Greece was inaugurated yesterday in Lagadas, Thessaloniki, by EDA THESS. The later, abiding by its commitment to supply remote areas has started expanding its distribution network to remote areas with CNG. The Municipality of Lagadas is now the first area in Greece to be supplied with gas through CNG technology.
Once again, EDA THESS is actively participating in the 83rd Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF). Its Pavilion inauguration took place on Sunday 09.09.2018 in the presence of Mr. V. Bouras, EDA THESS President, and BoD Members, Mr. L. Bakouras, EDA THESS General Manager, Mr. P. Galizzi, ENI Gas e Luce, Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs, Mr. D. Tzortzis, DEPA CEO and the whole staff of the Company.
Following the issuance of the framework of Remote Distribution Networks Development using Compressed/Liquified Natural Gas by RAE, even more areas included in EDA THESS’ development plan for 2018-2022, proceed to the completion of the procedure of the supply with natural gas.
